Finished Products.

Here are the two paintings I did recently.

And here are two paintings done by my mentor, Wallace Piatt:

Piatt is an incredibly talented local artist: he owned two clothing stores called Particle and True Grit as well as has his own line called Wear Wallace.

                                        Call me Loko,
But a filthy habit can create the most magical photos.

Twas a night before monday,
and all through the house...

So i whipped out the old sewing machine and haven't stopped working since. Right now I'm creating a Grecian - inspired dress made out of an old curtain. Boots made to booties and purses with the extra fabric are to follow. Otherwise alterations are my main focus.

Goal of each day:
Upload a photo that I've edited.

Feeling rather productive and I have got some art projects in mind: involving lace, feathers, beads, paint, and a hot glue gun. Photos will follow.

Current Literary Muse: Oscar Wilde

A production of The Importance of Being Earnest hits Broadway on December 20.
After the original comic play about prevalent human desires was skewed via film, one can hope that the play stays true to Wilde's tour de force.

His writing, "...entwines style, illicit sexuality, and the classical exaltation of form above all things..."

In modern day, he believed we, "...prefer music to meaning and melody to reality..."
As a flamboyant fame-seeker, Wilde's writing took on a tone more coherent with music, as well as following Greek standards.

"To be Greek one should have no clothes:
to be mediaeval one should have no body:
to be modern one should have no soul."

Human and historic trends repeat, as Wilde surmises.

Playing tonight at Muddy Waters: Eliza Rickman
Very intriguing style of playing a childs piano yet singing in a melodious wistful manner.

Here's one of her current music videos:
